Are there any cars that use holes like these on the new Nissan turismo concept, and route the exhaust through them? So the tail lights are also exhaust exits?
That would be really cool. Someone design that in somewhere!

I thought the Nissan Turismo Concept's taillights were just hollow to channel air flow through them. The issue with turning those into exhaust exits is that they'd either be fouled black by the exhaust fumes or melted from the extreme heat.

My guess is that there would be an issue of hot exhaust melting the tail light plastics.

I thought of that but I'd be willing to bet a modern high tech plastic is out there that can do it

Yeah I bet there's something out there that would work though

The ricers were way ahead of the game on this one.

High heat and sensitive electronics (LEDs) don't mix very well.

That's what I was thinking of

I read that Koenigsegg Agera's tail lights surround an air extractor opening (not sure if true), but like the others said, I don't think using the opening as an exhaust would work.

Thank you. Everyone is a naysayer and there are so many ways it could be implemented. I just haven't yet had the time to show people it is easily possible.

another dude just posted what I was talking about in one implementation. It's easily doable.

Definitely possible although maybe not cost effective on a mass produced vehicle. It may be carried to the next GTR but I doubt it.

Also just a thought for those saying plastic would melt. Think about how close the plastic bumper can be to the exhaust tip on some cars and not melt.

Yeah, sure it isn't cost effective, but that hasn't stopped many companies before. I think it would be sweet, and on a $1MM car or something wouldn't be so ostentatious really

The closest I've ever seen to that is this old Plymouth concept.
